Distúrbios osteomusculares e o trabalho detécnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem eminstituições de idosos / Musculoskeletal disorders and the work of the technicians and nursingassistants in homes for the aged

RESUMO

Objetivou-se investigar aspectos da organização e condições de trabalho e relações com os distúrbios osteomusculares detécnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem em instituições de longa permanência de idosos. Realizou-se levantamento de dadospessoais dos técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem (gênero, idade, escolaridade), sobre o trabalho e sintomas osteomusculares;e instrumental Índice de Barthel junto aos idosos, e posteriormente a realização de entrevistas semiestruturadasque foram gravadas e transcritas para análise de conteúdo por categorias. Condições desfavoráveis do espaço físico eequipamentos, ritmo acelerado, quantidade insuficiente de trabalhadores, sobrecargas no banho e troca de fraldas, entreoutros, foram apontados e indicam relações com os distúrbios osteomusculares no trabalho. Situações relacionadas à organizaçãoe condições de trabalho tendem a agravar o surgimento de distúrbios osteomusculares e aspectos de prevençãosão necessários nesses locais.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate organizational and working conditions and related aspects with musculoskeletal disordersin technicians and nursing assistants in homes for the aged. Carried out a survey of the technicians and nursing assistants,through a questionnaire containing personal data (gender, age, education), work, and about musculoskeletal symptoms;instrumental Barthel Index with the elderly, and subsequently carrying out semi-structured interviews were recorded andtranscribed for content analysis categories. Unfavorable conditions of physical space and equipment, fast pace, insufficientworkers, overloads in the bath and diaper changing, poor relationships with peers, among others, were listed and indicaterelations to musculoskeletal disorders at work. Situations related to the organization, working conditions tend to worsenthe appearance of musculoskeletal disorders, and prevention aspects are necessary in those places.
