Duelo por muerte perinatal. Necesidad de una atención diferencial e integral* / Duel for perinatal death. Need for a differential and integral attention

RESUMEN

Objetivo: articulo investigativo desde una perspectiva cualitativa, cuyo propósito es profundizar en el impacto que genera la muerte perinatal en una pareja de padres, y la asistencia profesional brindada. Los elementos conceptuales identificados se enriquecieron con una entrevista en profundidad con una joven pareja que labora en el área social, a partir de la cual las investigadoras generan reflexiones de segundo orden como aportes a la construcción de conocimiento. Materiales y métodos: los hallazgos de la revisión documental, escasos en relación con el tema, se contrastaron con una entrevista a profundidad con los padres de un bebe fallecido en etapa perinatal. Posterior a ello las investigadoras contrastaron los componentes documentales, testimoniales y generaron reflexiones desde una perspectiva multidimensional e interdisciplinaria. Resultados: en el manejo del caso se evidencia escasa sensibilidad por parte de los profesionales en salud, trato inadecuado y ausencia de acompañamiento ante la situación de duelo. Aunque conceptualmente existe movilización frente al tema por parte de profesionales en salud, en especial enfermeras y médicos, existen vacíos considerables que no propician un acompañamiento; la imagen brindada es de escasa sensibilidad frente a las familias que viven la pérdida. Conclusiones: se identifican fallas en la asistencia en salud al abordar este fenómeno humano que involucra todo el contexto familiar y de salud, lo que evidencia la necesidad de implementar protocolos diferenciados que respondan de manera adecuada a las necesidades particulares de estas familias..(AU)

ABSTRACT

Objective: research article from a qualitative perspective, whose purpose is to deepen the impact that perinatal death generates in a couple of parents, and the professional assistance provided. The identified conceptual elements were enriched by an in-depth interview with a young couple who work in the social area, from which the researchers generate reflections of second order as contributions to the construction of knowledge.Materials and methods: the findings of the documentary review, scarce in relation to the subject, were contrasted with an in-depth interview with the parents of a deceased perinatal baby. After that, the researchers contrasted the documentary, testimonial components and generated reflections from a multidimensional and interdisciplinary perspective. Results: in the handling of the case there is little sensitivity on the part of health professionals, inadequate treatment and absence of accompaniment in the situation of grief. Although conceptually there is mobilization in front of the topic by health professionals, especially nurses and doctors, there are considerable gaps that do not encourage accompaniment; the image offered is of little sensitivity to the families that experience the loss. Conclusions: faults in health care are identified when dealing with this human phenomenon that involves the entire family and health context, which demonstrates the need to implement differentiated protocols that respond appropriately to the needs of these families..(AU)
