ABSTRACT
The anti-ulcer activity of the leaves of Cassia mimosoides [family Caesalpiniaceae] was studied on albino rats. The anti-ulcer activity of the aqueous extract, ethanolic extract and fresh leaf powder juice with CMC was evaluated by using pyloric ligation model and aspirin-induced ulceration model. All the test samples revealed significant anti-ulcer activity. The order of decreasing ulcer activity was found to be as root juice < ethanolic extract < aqueous extract. The total acidity and free acidity also registered significant decrease in a similar manner. The results indicate that the Cassia mimosoides leaves possess effective anti-ulcer activity
