ABSTRACT
Twenty-five patients with advanced or recurrent breast carcinoma refractory to hormonal and or previous chemotherapy were treated with combination of ifosfamide, methotrexate and 5-fluorouracil with Urometexan. Courses were repeated every 3 weeks. The 24 evaluable patients received 3-12 courses with an average of 5 courses. There was complete remission in 3 patients [12.5%] and 3 [12.5%] partial remissions. Improvement was detected in 4 [16.6%] and stablization of disease in 7 [29.2%]. The over all response rate [CR+PR] was an average of 5 courses. There was complete remission in 3 patients [12.5%] Toxicity was minimal and mostly gastrointestinal 17/24, alopecia 12/24 and Leucopenia 6/24. The combination of Ifosfamide, methotrexate and fluorouracil is effective second line treatment in breast carcinoma
