Temporomandibular joint has been a subject of intense debate and interest for researchers since long. Temporomandibular disorders are one of the most intriguing and controversial subject in the world of dentistry. This study reviews the possible etiological factors and the management protocol for these disorders. The key to successful management is an appropriate diagnosis, for alleviating pain and restoring physiological functions. The choice of treatment provided to the patient depends on the degree of the problem.
