Gastritis: a historical review of old classification and the current version

ABSTRACT

Several Classifications have been proposed from time to time for chronic gastritis in order to bring about a uniformity in its pathological reporting and clinical understanding. These classifications were mostly based on the morphology or typography. However, with the discovery of H. Pylori, aetiological classification is also done.
