ABSTRACT
Pneumatosis cystoldes Intestinalis [PCI] is rare in adults although it can be seen in the pediatric population as a complication of necrotizing entero-colitis. We report an incidental finding of [PCI] affecting the small bowel in a 60-year-old man who underwent laparotomy for pyloric stenosis following chronic duodenal ulcer. The mechanism and etiology of PCI were not fully understood. After curative surgery for pyloric stenosis, the PCI was conservatively treated. The objective is to highlight that PCI is not a diagnosis but an incidental observation which needs further evaluation in view of the underlying etiology. A brief review of literature is presented too
