ABSTRACT
Immunohistochemical investigation were carried out to determine the distribution and significance of IAP in the tissues of malignant tumours of the head and neck by using anti-IAP monclonal antibody and ABC immunoperoxidase histochemical assay. Fifty five specimens of malignant tumours and 24 of benign lesions of head and neck were included in this study. The results revealed that IAP was negative in benign lesions while the positive rate was 94.55% in malignant tumours. The positive rate rises with the development of the pathological grade of squamous cell carcinoma. IAP may be a valuable tumour-marker in the early diagnosis evaluation of treatment, prognosis, recurrence and staging of the head and neck carcinoma
