ABSTRACT
Complete dentures were constructed for five subjects following the conventional methods and using cusped teeth. Another five complete dentures were constructed for the same patients using cuspless teeth. Direct EMG recording the muscle activity were taken bilaterally for the anterior temporal muscle and the masseter muscle of each patient. These records were retaken for each patient when the other type of teeth was used. The records were taken during mastication of soft food and harsh rough food. The results showed that the muscle activity was noticeably higher in complete dentures having cuspless teeth than those having cusped teeth
