ABSTRACT
One of the causes of occlusal disharmony in the finished denture is distortion of the interocclusal recording material. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stability of base plate wax, plaster of Paris, zinc oxide-eugenol paste and silicone as interocclusal recording materials. The results showed that no measurable changes took place when plaster of Paris was used as an interocclusal recording material. In case of zinc oxide-eugenol paste, very slight dimensional change took place immediately after recording of jaw relationship and no further change occurred after that. Small and gradual change was recorded when silicone was tested. Base plate showed the greatest dimensional changes
