ABSTRACT
Synthetic pyrethroids are widely used in our community as insecticides, they are however, toxic to humans and predominantly target the central nervous system. High doses have been noted to cause seizures in mice and other forms of damage in aquatic animals. Ezalo and other derived form pyrethrum flowers has the following chemical structure 1- pyrethrin 25% [20 mg], 2- piperinyl butoxide [300 mg], 3- bulitrine [40 mg]. This work aimed at studying the effect of heated Ezalo on the central nervous system and parenchymatous organs of mice, exposed to the insecticide for different periods of time. Thin layer chromatography [TLC] used to detect the effect of heating on the degradation products of the insecticide and Rate Flow [R] was determined for all degradable metobolites. The results were matched against unheated Ezalo contrils
