ABSTRACT
One thousand, eight hundred and fifty four children up to twelve years old were refracted under cycloplegic inorder to find out cases with a diffrence in refraction between both eyes one diopter or more, this difference was found in 263 cases, so the incidence of anisometropia in children was 14.19%, females were affected more than males, consanguinity present in 19.77% of cases, myopic anisometropia was common than hypermetropic and mixed types. After optical correcion we found that 109 cases were amblyopic, so incidence of amblyopia was 43.43% among anisometropic children, hypermetropic anisometropic cases more affected with amblyopia than others
