Sarcosporidiosis among Egyptian buffaloes

ABSTRACT
A total of 4000 samples were collected from buffalo carcasses, each from the left ventricle of the heart, esophagus and the t and inous insertion of the diaphragmatic pillars. Samples were subjected to macro- and microscopical examinations. Sarcocysts were found in 773 out of 2000 [38.65%] male carcasses under 2 years, 2 out of 3 [66.66%] female carcasses under 2 years and 1839 out of 1997 [92.08%] female carcasses over 5 years. Macrocysts were not found in the heart samples, while 36% 84% of the diaphragmatic and esophageal samples were infected. Microcysts were found in 62%, 77% and 98% of heart, diaphragmatic and esophageal samples. The degree of infection among the examined samples were mentioned
