ABSTRACT
Latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap was used in 25 female patients with breast cancer, 18 with primary tumor and 7 with local recurrence. The tumor size was more than 5 cm in all cases with primary tumor and Peau d'Orange was the commonest skin manifestation in this series [nine cases], fungating tumor was present in six cases and skin nodules with fixed skin in three cases. The donor area was closed without grafting in 17 cases and by split skin graft in 8 cases. The values of this flap in locally advanced breast cancer and in the surgical treatment of local recurrence were discussed
