ABSTRACT
The aerial parts of Haplophyllum tuberculatum [Forssk.] A Juss. Grown in Egypt yielded the furoquinoline alkaloids dihydroperfamine [I], and skimmianine, [II]; the aryenaphthalene lignans justicidin-A [III] and B [IV]. Skimmianine and justicidin-B were identified by direct comparison with authentic references, while dihydroperfamine and justicidin-A were identified by analysis of their spectral data. Dihydroperfamine showed direct relaxation on smooth muscles, as well as a hypotensive action
