ABSTRACT

Ispast is a well known drug of indigenous system of medicine reputed for its aphrodisiac and diuretic actions besides the herb being used chiefly in green fodder, silage, hay and pasture. The study includes determination of parameters such as macro and microscopical examination, powder analysis, ash and extractive values and TLC, on the basis of which the genuine drug may be identified and distinguished from its adulterants and substitutes
