ABSTRACT
This study highlight the importance of mutual understanding of all team members. Especially when their efforts are directed towards the same goal, namely patient welfare. Investigating the medical staff understanding of university nursing is the aim of this survey study. Data were collected from medical staff of five universities-Alexandria, Cairo, Ein Shams, Tanta ad Assiut where a High Institute of Nursing exsists. A significant difference exsisted in the understanding of curriculum and role of the graduates. Not only among different universities, but also among different categories of staff. If medical care seeks any upgrading of its service to the public, the understanding and appreciation of university nurses, preparation and role can not be overlooked
