ABSTRACT
In this study an attempt was made to assess the antimicrobial activity of various extracts of different Piper fruits available in the local market. Antimicrobial activity of 28 extracts at a single concentration of different Piper fruits of P. cubeba, P. chaba, P. longum and P. nigrum was evaluated against certain bacterial pathogens such as Staphylococcus albus, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Bacillus megaterium and fungus namely Aspergillus niger. All the extracts exhibited good antibacterial activity compared to the standard drug Streptomycin. All the extracts showed antifungal activity compared to Gresiofulvin. The activities were performed using disc diffusion
