Treatment of subtrochanteric fractures of the femur by intramedullary nail

ABSTRACT
Thirty cases of subtrochanteric fractures of the femur treated by intramedullary nail are presented. The fracture was sufficiently distal and comminution was minimal. Internal fixation with a standard medullary nail can be successful, as reported by Aronoff et al in 1972
