Prevalence of haemostatic disorders on habitual epistaxis
New Egyptian Journal of Medicine [The]. 1989; 3 (4): 1051-1056
in English | IMEMR | ID: emr-14363
ABSTRACT
Forty-two patients with a history of habitual epistaxis underwent clinical and laboratory evaluation to determine the cause of nose-bleeds. Nutritional anaemia was the reason in 14 cases, rheumatic activity occurred in 10 patients, while bleeding diathesis occurred in 6 patients. Twelve patients had apparent clinical causes. A full coagulation study is recommended to be done in all patients with habitual epistaxis without any apparent clinical cause
