ABSTRACT
Phagocytic activity of polymorph nuclear leucocytes were studied in 20 patients with M.leprae calegorized as 10 patients with borderline type [BB], 5 patients with lepromatous type [LL] and 5 patients with tuberculoid type [TT]. Ten normal persons served as control. A significant reduction in phagocytic activity was observed in all groups of patients with M.leprae. The lowest value was encountered in leprotic type. No correlation was detected between phagocytic activity and duration of the disease
