ABSTRACT
This case study describe the application of a collaborative approach known as stress inoculation developed by Raymond W. IMovaco for the treatment of uncontrolled anger. The case of Mr X, a 34 year old married man, referred to Psychology Department of Roscommon Mental Health Services, National University of Ireland was selected for this study. A single case experimental design [AB] was adopted. A comprehensive psychological assessment based on dinical interview and results of self-report instruments led to a cognitive-behavioural conceptualization of uncontrolled anger of the client. The assessment excluded other psychological issues through the invalidation of hypotheses derived from the investigation and confirmed the hypothesis of uncontrolled anger. Stress inoculation strategy was delivered in individual and group sessions to Mr. X in a structured, prescriptive and didactic manner. The details concerning the course of treatment implication of the case are presented in discussion section of this paper
