Prevalance of hepatitis B [HBV] in childhood nephrotic syndrome

ABSTRACT
To study the prevalence of hepatitis B virus [HBV] iii childhood nephrotic syndrome. Eighty nephritic syndrome diagnosed children were selected and hepatitis B surface antigen [HBsAg] test was performed. All the samples were analyzed for HBsAg by Abbott 3[rd] generation ELISA kit. Twelve cases [15%] were found positive for hepatitis B surface antigen [HBsAg] out of eighty patients of childhood nephrotic syndrome. Childhood nephrotic syndrome patients may be positive for hepatitis B surface antigen [HBsAg] test
