ABSTRACT
Cassia occidentalis. Linn, [commonly known as Kasondi], one of the very valuable indigenous drugs of India, is commonly used as a hepatoprotective agent. In Unani System of Medicine it is used to treat liver, skin and respiratory diseases. Recently its antibacterial, antifungal, antiplasmodial, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic and most importantly antihepatotoxic activities have been reported.
