ABSTRACT
Tropical pulmonary eosinophilia [TPE] is a syndrome of wheezing, fever and eosintphilia seen predominantly in the Indian subcontinent and other tropical areas. The Tropical Pulmonary Eosinophilia is not defined as such in Unani text but when we go through its etiology and clinical manifestation then we encounter some clinical entities cited in the classical text simulating the features of Tropical Pulmonary Eosinophilia. The Unani scholars successfully treated such conditions by Unani medicines, which even the present scholars, are following. The main objective of this study was to scientifically evaluate the efficacy of our drugs in Tropical Pulmonary Eosinophilia. The study was open single group uncontrolled randomised clinical trial. In the present study twelve cases of 15 to 55 years of age who were diagnosed on the basis of subjective and objective parameters were enrolled in the study for 60 days. Significant improvement in symptoms and signs and laboratory findings of the disease was observed
