ABSTRACT
This study was done in thirty cases of congenital inguinal hernia presenting with huge unilateral sacs. The patients had bilateral hernia in only three instances. However the contralateral side was not huge as the side treated with this technique. The age of the patients varied between 35 days and 8 years. Three cases were females with unilateral huge sliding congenital inguinal hernia. The technique includes hitching of the sac stump after transfixing ligation to the under surface of the conjoined tendon and binding both to the inguinal ligament by the same suture. This will narrow the internal ring and safeguard the stump of the excised sac against internal thrust
