ABSTRACT

Background:

Tracheostomy care begins in the intensive care unit [ICU] and after stabilization, the patient is transferred to a general ward, decannulated or discharged. Insufficient experience of staff caring for tracheostomy patients may lead to suboptimal care and increased morbidity
