ABSTRACT
Background:
Preeclampsia [PE] is a complex and serious multi-system disorder of pregnancy with a worldwide incidence of 5-7% and contributes significantly to maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Normal pregnancy is associated with a local hypercoagulable state that becomes more profound in PE. Histidine-rich glycoprotein [HRG] is a protein interacting with angiogenesis, coagulation, and inflammatory responses, processes known to be altered in preeclamptic pregnancies
