Background:

In normal pregnancy, changes in thyroid function are well acknowledged; however, information about thyroid function in gestational hypertension [GH] is scanty. Hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy are common and contribute greatly to prenatal and maternal morbidity and mortality in the developing countries.
