Background:
self-compassion is the ability to respond to one's failures, shortcomings, and difficulties with kindness and openness rather than criticism. It is treating oneself in a kind way and having positive attitudes towards hardships. Rumination plays a vital role in depression, while self-compassion suppress the role of rumination and alleviates the depression
