Epidemiological study of occupational accidents in Port Said: organization of the care in Port Said

ABSTRACT
There is a special centre for labour accidents which is a part of port-said Healthy insurance organisation [H.I.O] polyclinic in this centre. This centre received all cases of labour accidents in port-Said and referred to different especially in Mobera hospital. A special file to each new case is initated, up dated and kept in the centre. This study include 7761 patients were treated from occupational accident in Period 5 years [1-10-85 30-10-90]. All cases of occupational injuries were studied and classified according to the site and type of injurery. Contusion and sprains 3960 cases 51% superficial Wounds 1890 cases 24% fractures 8 11 cases 10.4% amputation 130 cases 1.7. Deaths 8 patients 0.1%. Eye injury 150 cases 2%, head injury 90 cases, 1.3% and disabilities 340 cases, 5.5%. Abdominal injuries 50 cases 66%
