[Sciatica by discal hernia]

ABSTRACT
365 patients went under surgery for herniated lumbar disc in the neurosurgery unit at the CHU Ibn Rochd of Casablanca. There are more men [66,5%] than women and the mean age is 37 years. A heaving of high weight was the principal causal factor [71,5%]. The delay before hospitalization is long [six months]. Sciatalgia L5 was more frequent than Sl contrary to the europeen studies, and the Lasegue sign was found below of 45 in 47% of cases. The correlation between neuro-radiologic data and surgery was found in 90%. The post-operative outcome was good in 80% of cases
