Treatment of un-united fractures of the shaft of the humerus

ABSTRACT

The results of operative treatment of 16 cases of un-united fractures of the humeral diaphsis are reported. The bone ends were excised, fractures were fixed by compression plates, bone grafts were used in all the cases. Fourteen cases showed evidence of union within 16 weeks, two cases within 20 weeks, and all recovered a useful range of motion at the shoulder and elbow
