ABSTRACT
The growth activity of the seventh costochondral junction and sternoclavicular and temporomandibular joints was evaluated in growing children and compared using skeletal scintigraphy. It was found that there is a highly significant difference among these regions, with the 7th costochondral junction having significantly lower uptake than the other two regions. It was concluded from this study that the strenal head of the clavicle may be more suitable for replacing the defective mandibular condoyle in growing children than a costochondral graft
