The success rate was 95% with 12% rate of complications in group I while in group II, the success rate was 100% with 17% postoperative complications. The mean duration of hospital stay after laparoscopic cholecystectomy was 1.2 + 0.6 days and after open cholecystectomy 4.7 + 1.1 days.
