ABSTRACT
The effects of chronic hepatic coccidiosis on serum triacylglycerol, cholesterol, high density lipoproteins [HDL], low density lipoproteins [LDL] and very low density lipoproteins [VLDL] were studied in rabbits experimentally infected with Eimeria stiedae. Twenty coccidia-free New Zeal and males 2-3 months of age were used. The animals were divided into two equal groups. The animals in group I [control group] were not infected. Group II was infected by 6000 sporulated oocysts of Eimeria stiedae per rabbit through oral route. Blood samples were collected at 45 days post infection. The statistical analysis revealed that the triacylglycerol, cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and VLDL were highly significantly decreased in rabbits infected with Eimeria stiedae
