ABSTRACT
The mass spectra of some substituted purines are reported and discussed. All compounds are thermodynamically stable and give an intense molecular ion, which undergoes different types of fragmentation depending on the nature of substituent. Fragmentation patterns involving McLafferty rearrangements are proposed
