Effect of cleft palate repair on eustachian function in children
New Egyptian Journal of Medicine [The]. 1994; 10 (5): 2268-69
in English | IMEMR | ID: emr-34368
ABSTRACT
20 patients with cleft palate and secretory otitis media were subjected to cleft repair and myringotomy with Grommet insertion. After 6 months the Eustachian function was reevaluated. 55% of the sample showed improved function, whereas 45% remained with the same problem. This may be due to presence of other mechanisms of Eustachian dysfunction or due to hamulotomy
