ABSTRACT
There is a debate about the surgical interference in the management of intracerebral hematoma. Stereotaxy has played a good role in this aspect. Patients with intracerebral hematoma had been operated on. Stereotactic aspiration of the hematoma was performed in 15 patients presented to them after 4 days of the onset of bleeding with a success rate 73%. Stereotactic guided open craniotomy and evacuation of the hematoma was performed in 8 patients presented in the first 2 days after the onset of bleeding with a success rate of 75%. Their total mortality rate was 8.3% due to the preoperative selection of patients
