ABSTRACT
An immunoglobin enzyme bridge technique has been employed for the selective localization of immunoglobin producing cells in lymph nodes in Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin 's lymphoma. The procedure was carried out on 15 cases each of Hodgkin s and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma on formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue blocks of lymph nodes. Immunoperoxidase staining in Hodgkin's lymphoma revealed 53.33% cases positive for IgG, 26.67% for IgA, 60% for IgM, 73.33% for K-chain and 60% for chain. Various light chains and heavy chains were simultaneously demonstrated indicating polyclonal proliferation of cells in Hodgkin's lymphoma. Immunoperoxidase staining for immunoglobulins in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma revealed 26.66% cases positive for IgG, all negative for IgA, 20% positive for IgM, 33.33% for K-chain and 13.33% for chain. Only one type of light or heavy chains were demonstrated singly indicating monoclonal proliferation of cells in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
