ABSTRACT
Two flavonoids were isolated from the ether extract of the aerial parts of C. pycnocephalus L. [Asteraceae]. They were identified as diosmetin [I] and kempferol-3-O-alpha-L-rhamnoside [II] by different spectroscopic techniques, in addition to acid hydrolysis of II, and comparison of the sugar with reference samples. Three known sterols were also isolated
