Consumer satisfaction with MCH services provided by an urban primary health care centre in Alexandria

ABSTRACT
PHC requires the development and application of appropriate health technology including an adequate supply of good quality essential drugs, vaccines and other supplies and equipment and it should be sustained by an integrated referral system leading to improvement of health care. Measuring consumer satisfaction can have a positive impact on the health care organization and the information is particularly useful in program planning and evaluation and in improvement of quality of care provided. The results of the present study revealed the dissatisfaction of the mothers attending the MCH clinic of the urban health centre with drugs and drug information, nursing care, physical facilities equipment and referral facilities. It was conclude that for improvement of the quality of health care, provision of adequate drugs and drug information, adequate supply of facilities and equipment, as well as adequate and appropriate referral services are necessary
