ABSTRACT
Neuropsychiatric manifestations of typhoid fever are not uncommon, occurring in 12 of 40 patients admitted to the medical unit at District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi. The clinical presentation ranged from a confusional state, Parkinsonian rigidity, meningism to semi-coma. The diagnosis may be missed or delayed unless there is a strong index of suspicion
