ABSTRACT
The degree of knowledge about AIDS contribute to influence the incidence of HIV infection. To evaluate the degree of knowledges, attitudes and behaviours of tunisians towards AIDS an investigation was carried out. 310 persons [258 employees and 52 students] had a questionnaire before and after health educational session and one year later for 52 employees. Analysis of the different variables leads us to this - AIDS is a very mediated disease. - there is a good knowledge about AIDS disease in the 2 groups studied, both before and after health educational session. - students identified better the population at risk [43%] than employees [23,2%]. This difference remain unchanged after health educational session. - the two groups know. how to prevent contamination [78% for students and 74% for employees]. This degree of knowledge improved especially in the employees group. - 5% of employees and 6% of students identified the population to which serology of HIV is indicated. This improved in the employees group to 11,6% following the educational health session. These are positive results, encouraging to enhance further awareness about AIDS which will help limit its spread
