ABSTRACT
This investigation is concerned with the effect of different salt levels [Normal, High and Low] diet on the level of PGE[2] in young females with an age ranging from 20-25 years, Kept on the corresponding diet for 15 days. PGE[2] level was detected in peripheral blood using RIA technique of Bernard and Harold [1973]. On the basis of the findings of Daniels et al., [1967] who proved that the depressorvaso lipid found in the crude renomedullary extract of PGE[2]derived from the kidney of man [Daniels, 1971], and also Drop 1971, who proved that renal medulla synthesizes large concentrations of PGE[2]. We may illustrate our findings in the following In case of the groups treated with high salt diet, a significant rise in the level of PGE[2] was detected. Accordingly we may consider that PGE[2] has a lowering effect on the blood pressure with regards to its natriuretic effect, while in case of the low salt diet non significant decrease occured
