Hepatotoxicity induced by lead in rats: a histological study

ABSTRACT
Lead acetate was given in trap eritoneal, to seventy two albino rats for six weeks to study the histologically changes in the liver. The observations revealed mild to moderate congestion, erosion of endothelium of central artery, fatty infiltration, prominent duffer cells indicated by increase in cell size, pyknotic nucleus. Glycogen was depleted. Statistical analysis revealed time dependent increased necrosis of hepatocytes and glycogen depletion
