role of sedo analgesia in orchidectomy for the management of carcinoma of prostate

ABSTRACT
Out of 23 patients who underwent orchidectomy under sedo analgesia for metastatic carcinoma prostate 84% belonged to ASA [American Society of Anesthesiologists] Grade III and IV. In our study the role of sedo analgesia as an available, safe preferable and cheaper alternative to general anaesthesia is emphasized, especially in a group of high risk patients. Ninety one percent [21] of our patients performed sedo analgesia to conventional general anaesthesia.
