ABSTRACT
In this work, a pharmacological study was carried out using 15 newly synthesized quinazolinone compounds. The effect of these compounds on CNS activity of mice and rats was accomplished following their ip injection into them. All compounds were suspended in 5% aqueous Suspension of gum acacia and were given into mice in a dose of 60 mg/kg. The central effects of 15 well-selected quinazolinone compounds were evaluated. This pharmacological study revealed the effectiveness of many quinazolinone derivatives against spastic and convulsive disorders as well as their activity as sedative hypnotics and anti-inflammatory agents
