ABSTRACT
A total of 65 [29 male and 36 female] neonates with convulsion were included in this study. Venous blood samples were obtained for the determination of serum calcium level using a flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results show that 9.2% of the neonates with convulsion were hypocalcemia while 90.8% of the patients were normocalcemic. The results indicate that hypocalcemia is a minor cause of neonatal convulsion
