ABSTRACT
Post-marketing stability studies were conducted on different commercial acetaminophen paediatric preparations collected from the cities of Dera Ismail Khan and Karachi, Pakistan, which differ in their climatic conditions. A properly validated HPLC method developed in our laboratory was used. The mobile phase consisting of 0.05M phosphate buffer methanolhexane-1-sulfonic acid sodium salt in the ratio 850 150 2 [v/v/w], pH adjusted to 3, was pumped at1.5 mI/mm flow. The separation was achieved on a reverse phase C18micro Bondapack 3.9 i.d. x 300 trim column and the aetection wave length was 245 nm. It was concluded that due to warmer climatic conditions the levels of hydrolytic product 4-aminophenol were higher in samples collected from DI. Khan as compared to the samples from Karachi
